you know that scene in dirty dancing where baby sneaks up to the dining room and overhears patrick swayze saying to that other guy, “you just put your pickle on everybody’s plate, college boy, and leave the hard stuff to me.” ?  i saw that movie 439282374 times when i was little, and i always thought that that guy was putting literal pickles on people’s plates, you know, because he was a waiter.
