sometime between tuesday at midnight, when i was there with phil, and last night, when i was there in the parking lot with rob, jess, and shaun, the porch roof of the harp caved in.  we arrived to find plastic garbage cans blocking the parking spaces, and posterboard signs taped to the wreckage.  “closed tonight.  sorry for the inconvenience.”  how surreal it was to see the thing that normally keeps the rain off my head as i drink stoli vanilla cokes cracked in half and fallen onto the exact bench where i usually sit and drink stoli vanilla cokes.  rob thinks it’s a sign we should go somewhere else, but i don’t.  it can’t be!  he gave me a big canister of orange silly string, which i sprayed on the big tree in the parking lot, in a heart shape with a smiley face.
